About this Recipe

Craving the comforting taste of banana bread but in a convenient, portable form? These Oatmeal Banana Muffins deliver all that cozy flavor with the added texture of hearty old fashioned oats and a delightful crumb topping, perfect for any time of day.

What truly sets these muffins apart is the thoughtful inclusion of old fashioned oats in both the batter and the decadent crumb topping. This creates a wonderfully moist, tender interior with a satisfying, rustic chew, all crowned by a sweet, buttery crunch that elevates the classic banana muffin experience.

Prepare for a warmly spiced treat that combines the familiar sweetness of ripe bananas with the subtle nuttiness of oats, brightened by cinnamon and a pinch of ground nutmeg. Each bite offers a tender, cake-like interior, beautifully contrasted by the slightly crunchy, sweet topping. You'll find these muffins wonderfully moist and satisfying, perfect for a quick breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up.

While fantastic as is, these Oatmeal Banana Muffins are also quite versatile. You could swap the oil for an equal amount of unsweetened applesauce for a slightly lighter texture, or add a handful of chocolate chips or chopped walnuts to the batter for an extra layer of sweetness and crunch. For a different spice profile, a touch of allspice could be incorporated with the cinnamon and nutmeg.

These Oatmeal Banana Muffins are ideal for a quick breakfast on the go, a satisfying snack for school or work, or a delightful addition to any brunch spread. Enjoy them on their own with a cup of coffee or tea.
