  3. 3

Set up breading station. In three small plates/pie plates put the flour in one, the egg substitute (or egg mixture) in one, and 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs in one. To the plate with the seasoned bread crumbs, mix in 1 tsp. garlic powder, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 tsp. kosher salt, 1/2 tsp. fresh ground pepper, and a pinch of cayenne pepper, if using, with a fork.

About this Recipe

Craving that ultimate comfort food experience of a perfectly cooked pork chop, with a golden crust and a tender, juicy interior? These Oven Baked Pork Chops deliver just that, transforming simple ingredients into a dish your family will adore.

Why These Pork Chops Work

The magic in this recipe lies in taking thick cut boneless, center cut pork chops and giving them a special treatment. The seasoned breading, a delightful mix of all-purpose flour, seasoned bread crumbs, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese, creates that irresistible crispy exterior you crave. Finishing them in the oven ensures the thick chops cook through evenly, locking in moisture so they stay incredibly juicy on the inside, avoiding any dryness often associated with pan-fried chops.

What to Expect

Prepare for a truly satisfying meal that brings warmth and flavor to your table. Each bite of these oven baked pork chops offers a wonderful contrast: the pleasing crunch of the savory breading gives way to succulent, tender pork. You'll taste the subtle notes of garlic, a hint of nutty Parmesan, and a gentle warmth from the optional cayenne pepper, all harmonizing with the natural richness of the pork. This isn't just a meal; it's a nostalgic taste of home-cooked goodness that’s both comforting and deeply flavorful.

Customization & Variations

Feel free to adapt the breading to your liking. For an extra kick, increase the pinch of cayenne pepper or add a dash of smoked paprika. If you don't have seasoned bread crumbs on hand, use plain bread crumbs and boost the seasoning with a little dried Italian herbs. While grated Parmesan cheese adds a lovely savory depth, you can omit it if you prefer or use a different hard cheese like Pecorino Romano for a bolder flavor.

Serving & Context

These crispy, juicy oven baked pork chops are perfect for a hearty weeknight dinner or a relaxed weekend meal. They pair wonderfully with classic sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple green salad.
