About this Recipe

Craving a vibrant, fresh dish that comes together in a flash? This Shrimp Ceviche recipe is your answer, delivering bright, zesty flavors without ever turning on the stove. It's the perfect no-cook meal or appetizer for a quick weeknight or a sunny gathering.

The beauty of this Shrimp Ceviche lies in its brilliant simplicity and the power of fresh citrus. Using already cooked shrimp means you can skip the 'cooking' step entirely, allowing the lemon, lime, and orange juices to infuse the dish with incredible tang and freshness in just minutes. This method ensures a quick prep time and maximum flavor without any fuss.

Prepare for a burst of sunshine in every bite. You'll experience the tender chew of shrimp perfectly balanced by the crisp textures of diced jicama or apple and the juicy pop of fresh plum tomatoes. A gentle heat from minced jalapeno peppers, with their seeds and veins removed, provides a subtle, welcome kick, while fresh cilantro and creamy avocado tie all the lively flavors together. It's an incredibly refreshing and light dish that truly embodies the essence of fresh ingredients.

Easily tailor this ceviche to your taste. If jicama isn't readily available, diced peeled apple offers a similar crisp texture and subtle sweetness that works beautifully. For those who prefer less heat, you can reduce the amount of minced jalapeno peppers. Feel free to adjust the balance of fresh lemon, lime, and orange juices to suit your citrus preference.

This quick and easy Shrimp Ceviche is fantastic as a light lunch, a vibrant appetizer, or a fresh side dish. Serve it chilled with your favorite tortilla chips or crisp tostadas for a delightful crunch, or enjoy it simply by the spoonful.
