About this Recipe
Craving a restaurant-worthy pasta dish that's surprisingly easy to make? This Shrimp Penne alla Vodka delivers rich, creamy flavors in just 30 minutes, proving some culinary rules are meant to be broken. You don't need to choose between seafood and cheese with this delightful recipe.
What makes this recipe special is its bold embrace of succulent shrimp paired with a luscious tomato vodka sauce and savory Grana Padano cheese. The combination creates an incredibly harmonious and satisfying experience, challenging the traditional Italian adage of no fish with cheese. It's a truly delicious pairing that you'll want to make again and again.
You'll be treated to tender penne pasta coated in a velvety, blush-pink sauce, brightened by the delicate sweetness of perfectly cooked shrimp. The subtle tang from the rich tomato passata is beautifully balanced by the creaminess of the half and half and the sharp, salty notes of Grana Padano. This dish offers a comforting yet sophisticated taste, making it perfect for a busy weeknight while still feeling elegant enough for guests.
Easily adapt this recipe to your pantry or preferences. If Grana Padano isn't available, Pecorino or Parmigiana-Reggiano are excellent cheese substitutes that will still provide that desired salty depth. For the shrimp, you have the option to leave the tails on for presentation or remove them for easier eating.
This luxurious pasta is ideal for a cozy dinner or a special occasion. Garnish generously with fresh chopped parsley for a burst of color and herbaceous freshness, elevating both the look and taste of the dish.
