About this Recipe
When the chill of a cold night calls for a truly comforting dessert, nothing quite satisfies like a warm, tender Sourdough Bread Pudding. This recipe offers a delightful twist on a beloved classic, perfect for those seeking both warmth and refined flavor.
This recipe elevates classic bread pudding with the rich, slightly tangy complexity of homemade sourdough brioche, creating a depth of flavor that ordinary bread simply can't match. Paired with a luxuriously creamy, cinnamon-spiced custard, it transforms simple ingredients into an unforgettable treat that feels both elegant and deeply nostalgic.
Imagine tender cubes of brioche, soaked just right, offering a delightful chew in every bite, enrobed in a warm, silky custard. The subtle warmth of cinnamon perfectly complements the richness, while the optional raisins burst with sweet, tangy notes, adding another layer of texture and flavor. It’s a dessert that feels both elegant and deeply nostalgic, perfect for winding down after a long day.
While raisins add a classic touch, feel free to omit them if they're not to your liking, or swap them for dried cranberries for a tart counterpoint. For an extra layer of indulgence, you could lightly toast the sourdough brioche cubes before adding the custard, enhancing their texture and adding a subtle nuttiness.
This Sourdough Bread Pudding is the ultimate cozy dessert, ideal for sharing on chilly evenings or as a decadent finish to a comforting family meal. Serve it warm, perhaps with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream for an extra special treat.
