Thom Khem is traditionally served generously over a bed of fluffy jasmine rice, allowing the rice to soak up the exquisite sauce. For an extra touch of freshness, a sprinkle of fresh cilantro or chopped scallions can elevate the dish even further.

  • Pork Variations: While sirloin works beautifully, for an even richer stew, consider using pork belly or pork shoulder for a melt-in-your-mouth texture.
  • Add a Kick: If you enjoy a bit of heat, a sliced bird's eye chili or a pinch of red pepper flakes can be added during the simmering process for a spicy Thom Khem.
  • Vegetable Boost: Feel free to incorporate vegetables like bok choy or quartered mushrooms during the last 10-15 minutes of cooking for added texture and nutrients.
