The brilliance of this One Pot Andouille Sausage Skillet Pasta is in its name: everything, even the elbow macaroni, cooks together in a single pan. This genius method means the pasta absorbs all the rich, savory flavors from the smoked andouille sausage, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth as it simmers, creating a deeply integrated and satisfying taste experience. Plus, cleanup is a breeze!
You can expect a robust and comforting dish bursting with smoky, slightly spicy flavors from the andouille sausage and a wonderfully creamy finish from the melted pepper jack cheese. The elbow macaroni cooks to a perfect tender bite right in the savory liquid, soaking up every bit of goodness to become incredibly flavorful. This skillet pasta offers a harmonious blend of textures and tastes, making it a truly satisfying meal that feels indulgent but comes together with surprising simplicity.
Want to make it your own? Swap andouille sausage for another pre-cooked smoked sausage like kielbasa if you prefer a milder flavor profile. If pepper jack cheese isn't to your taste or available, shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack would also create a wonderfully creamy and cheesy finish. For a touch of green, you could stir in a handful of fresh spinach during the last few minutes of cooking.
This hearty skillet pasta is a fantastic weeknight dinner, perfect for feeding the family or when you need a comforting meal in about 30 minutes. Serve it simply, perhaps with a crisp green salad or some warm crusty bread to soak up any extra delicious sauce.
