Expect a breakfast bake that's wonderfully soft and custardy on the inside, with a gentle sweetness from the brown sugar and a vibrant, citrusy tang from the orange marmalade and fresh orange juice. This dish offers a comforting, elegant experience that's deceptively simple to achieve, making it a reliable favorite for any home cook.
While this Orange Croissant Bake is exquisite as written, you can easily adapt it to your pantry or preferences. Feel free to swap the orange marmalade for apricot jam or lemon curd for a different citrus profile. For an extra layer of texture, consider sprinkling a handful of chopped pecans or walnuts over the top before baking. If you prefer a slightly lighter custard, 2% milk can be used in place of whole milk, though whole milk offers the richest result.
Serve this warm Orange Croissant Bake straight from the oven, perhaps with an extra dollop of softened cream cheese on the side or a simple dusting of powdered sugar. It pairs beautifully with a hot cup of coffee or a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, making any breakfast or brunch feel like a special occasion.
