About this Recipe
Tired of store-bought enchilada sauce that falls flat? Get ready to transform your weeknight meals with this incredible 5 Minute Enchilada Sauce—a vibrant, flavor-packed sauce that comes together in a blender without any cooking.
The magic here lies in its remarkable simplicity and speed. By combining readily available pantry staples like diced tomatoes, chili powder, and cumin, you can whip up a rich, authentic-tasting sauce that bypasses simmering on the stovetop entirely. It’s truly a no-cook wonder, ready in the time it takes to gather your ingredients.
Prepare for a bold, zesty sauce with a beautiful depth of flavor. You'll taste the bright acidity of tomatoes, perfectly balanced by the earthy warmth of chili powder and cumin, with a subtle kick from chipotle powder. The texture will be smooth and pourable, ideal for coating your favorite enchiladas, whether they're filled with chicken, beef, or vegetables. This sauce brings a homemade, restaurant-quality taste to your table with minimal effort, elevating any dish it touches.
For a richer, smoky flavor, definitely opt for fire-roasted diced tomatoes. If you're out of granulated garlic, a couple of fresh garlic cloves work wonderfully. You can easily adjust the heat by adding more or less chipotle powder, or use smoked paprika for just the smoky essence without the spice. Don't have apple cider vinegar? A splash of white vinegar or lime juice can provide a similar tang.
This versatile enchilada sauce is the perfect base for your next enchilada night, whether it's a casual weeknight dinner or a lively gathering. It also shines as a topping for burritos, tacos, or as a flavorful addition to chili.
