The magic of this BBQ Chicken Pasta Skillet lies in its one-pan simplicity, minimizing cleanup while maximizing flavor. By utilizing pre-cooked rotisserie chicken, you slash prep time significantly, allowing you to enjoy a hearty, comforting meal with just a handful of ingredients. The combination of sweet petite diced tomatoes and rich chicken broth forms the perfect base for the creamy BBQ sauce, ensuring every noodle is coated in deliciousness.
Prepare for a truly comforting and savory experience. Each forkful features tender rotini pasta, succulent shredded chicken, and a harmonious blend of smoky barbecue sauce, bright tomatoes, and mellow onion. The dish is generously bound together by melty marbled cheddar cheese, adding a creamy, rich texture that complements the tangy sauce beautifully. Topping it all off, crispy fried onion strings provide a delightful crunch and an extra layer of savory depth, making every bite truly satisfying. This robust dinner comes in at a satisfying 418 calories per serving, offering a substantial meal without feeling overly heavy.
Feel free to experiment with your favorite pasta shape if rotini isn't on hand; penne or elbow macaroni would work well. You could also swap out the marbled cheddar for a different cheese like Monterey Jack or a smoked gouda for an added dimension. While rotisserie chicken is incredibly convenient, any cooked, shredded chicken will work beautifully. For an extra kick, consider a spicy BBQ sauce or a dash of hot sauce with the tomatoes.
Perfect for a casual family dinner, this BBQ Chicken Pasta Skillet is a complete meal on its own, offering comfort and flavor without the fuss. Garnish with a sprinkle of freshly chopped cilantro for a pop of color and herbaceous brightness.
