Classic Beef and Pork Meatloaf
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup Ritz crackers
crushed
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/3 cup yellow onion
diced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper or foil and place on a rimmed baking sheet.
- 2
In a large bowl combine all meatloaf ingredients together. Knead together with your hands to mix until just combined.
- 3
Press the meat mixture into the prepared pan and use a rubber spatula to press it in evenly.
- 4
Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
- 5
As you approach the 45 minute mark, mix together glaze ingredients in a small bowl.
- 6
Remove the meatloaf from the oven and carefully drain any grease if necessary. (A turkey baster is good for this.)
- 7
Spoon half the glaze over the meatloaf, being sure not to touch the spoon to the half-cooked meatloaf so you don’t cross-contaminate the glaze.
- 8
Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 9
Let meatloaf sit 15 minutes before slicing and serving. Serve with remaining glaze for dipping.

About this Recipe
Craving that ultimate comfort food classic that tastes just like grandma used to make? This Classic Beef and Pork Meatloaf recipe brings back all those nostalgic flavors with a tender, juicy loaf and a perfectly sweet, tangy glaze. It's a truly satisfying dish that will quickly become a family favorite.
What makes this meatloaf truly stand out is the masterful blend of ground beef and ground pork, creating a depth of flavor and ideal texture you won't get from just one meat. The inclusion of crushed Ritz crackers and milk ensures every slice is incredibly moist, preventing the dry, crumbly texture often associated with poorly made meatloaf.
Prepare for a meatloaf that's wonderfully savory, with a rich blend of seasoned beef and pork that truly melts in your mouth. The combination of yellow onion, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce provides a complex, umami-rich base. The star of the show might just be the sweet and tangy glaze, featuring ketchup, brown sugar, and a hint of white vinegar. This glaze caramelizes beautifully on top, adding a bright, irresistible counterpoint to the robust meat, making each bite balanced and delicious. This classic dish is straightforward to prepare, resulting in a comforting meal that feels both special and easy.
While the classic combination is perfect as is, you can subtly adjust the flavor profile to your liking using the provided ingredients. Prefer a more robust savory note in the loaf? Consider increasing the Worcestershire sauce slightly. For a sweeter glaze, you can increase the brown sugar a touch, or for a tangier finish, add a bit more white vinegar.
This hearty meatloaf is ideal for a comforting weeknight dinner or a special family gathering, pairing wonderfully with classic sides like mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
