Why recipe pages are so long
Most recipe blogs earn their money from display ads, and ads pay by the impression. The longer the page, the more ad slots it can hold, so the recipe ends up below a story, a dozen photos and several video players. The writing is often good. It is just not what you need with flour on your hands.
Browser reader modes and "jump to recipe" buttons help on some sites, but they still leave you on the page, and the next visit starts from the top again. Pulling the recipe out once and keeping it is the fix that lasts.
How this tool reads a recipe
- It looks for the recipe data. Most recipe sites publish the recipe in a structured format for search engines. When it is there, the ingredients and steps come straight from it, word for word.
- It falls back to reading the page. When a site does not publish that data, an AI model reads the page text and writes out the ingredients and steps it finds. Check those before you cook.
- It keeps the source. Every recipe links back to the page it came from, so the original author stays credited.
Keep it in the app
The clean recipe here is yours to read and cook from. To keep it, save it to a free Only Recipes account, which holds up to 15 recipes, then open it on your phone in the Only Recipes app for iPhone and Android. Saving from a TikTok or Instagram video has its own walkthrough: see how to save recipes from TikTok and how to save recipes from Instagram.
