About this Recipe
Craving that rich, comforting creamed corn like grandma used to make, but tired of bland, watery canned versions? This Easy Creamed Corn recipe delivers on authentic flavor and creamy texture, making it the perfect quick side dish for any meal.
What sets this creamed corn apart is its incredible balance of flavors—a delightful sweetness from the corn and sugar, perfectly complemented by a subtle warmth from cayenne pepper and nutmeg. Plus, it comes together in just minutes using convenient frozen corn, proving that homemade doesn't have to mean complicated.
Get ready for a side dish that's both decadently creamy and wonderfully flavorful. You'll find tender kernels of sweet corn enveloped in a velvety, rich sauce, with just a hint of spice that awakens your palate without overpowering the natural sweetness. This recipe transforms simple ingredients into an irresistible accompaniment that tastes like it simmered all day.
Customization & Variations:
- For a bolder kick, increase the pinch of cayenne pepper to 1/4 teaspoon, or dial it back for a milder dish.
- Adjust the granulated sugar to your preference, adding more for a sweeter profile or slightly less if your corn is particularly sweet.
- While the recipe uses heavy cream and whole milk for ultimate richness, you could experiment with half-and-half for a slightly lighter, yet still creamy, result.
This versatile Easy Creamed Corn is a fantastic addition to holiday feasts, weeknight dinners, or barbecues. It pairs beautifully with roasted chicken, grilled pork chops, or a classic steak, offering a comforting and flavorful contrast to savory main courses. Serve it warm in a bowl, perhaps garnished with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for a touch of color.
